Quality

Quality

A proven track record of quality service is a prerequisite for success in the dry bulk business. Our manager’s reputation for excellence in customer service has been built over more than five decades of commitment to being “best in class”.

We take pride in the pioneering role we, along with our affiliates, have played in developing technological platforms that serve not just us, but many significant industry participants. Our affiliate, Danaos Management Consultants, is widely regarded as an innovator in the industry and has developed countless design and software solutions that have benefited Danaos Bulk.

Our manager and its affiliates have placed an emphasis on research and development aimed at developing advanced tools to monitor and optimise fuel efficiency, emissions control, energy management and bunker consumption. These tools incorporate Danaos’ 43 years’ experience and technical expertise. The implementation of an online data acquisition and processing platform, providing accurate, real-time control of vessels’ operational parameters, will help us maintain our technological edge.

To ensure our fleet is operated by qualified, competent and medically fit seafarers, our manager, Danaos Shipping, applies specific recruitment and training procedures for on-board and on-shore personnel, in accordance with national and international requirements.

Operations management

Manager

The operations of Danaos Bulk are managed by Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd., founded by Dimitris Coustas in 1972, which provides technical and commercial management services to our fleet.

Our manager is regarded as an innovator in operational and technological aspects in the international shipping community. Danaos Shipping's strong technological capabilities derive from employing highly educated professionals, its leading role in European Union research projects related to shipping, and its close affiliation to Danaos Management Consultants, a leading ship-management software and services company.

We believe our manager has built a strong reputation in the shipping community by providing customised, high-quality operational services in an efficient manner for both new and older vessels, and that we will derive significant benefits from our relationship with Danaos Shipping.

Danaos Shipping achieved early ISM certification in 1995, the first Greek company to receive such certification from Det Norske Veritas. In 2004 it received the Lloyd's List Technical Innovation Award for advances in internet-based telecommunication methods for vessels. It maintains service quality by directly controlling the selection and employment of seafarers through its crewing offices in Piraeus (Greece), Odessa (Ukraine), Zanzibar (Tanzania) and Russia.

Danaos Shipping directly selects and employs the seafarers serving aboard Danaos Bulk’s fleet.

Danaos Management Consultants provides the ship-management software deployed on our vessels to our manager.
